About

Dr. Muhammad Umair Farooqis working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics, The Islamia University, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan Campus. He earned his PhD in specialisation of Semiconductors and Nanotechnology from Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), China, in 2018 on a fully funded Chinese Government scholarship (CSC).   His research is focused on the investigation of exciton-spin, carrier-spin, and spin-spin interactions related to optical and magnetic behaviour in transition metal doped low-dimensional (1d, 2D) semiconductors nanostructures for their application in spintronics and solid-state optoelectronic devices. Prior to joining IUB, Dr Umair was awarded a Post-doc Fellowship by the China Post-doc Association at the Institute of Semiconductors (IOS), Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. He has worked in several diversified national and international universities, including Beijing Institute of Technology, Institute of Semiconductors (IOS), University of Education for teaching and research productivity. He has published about 19 high-quality international research articles with a cumulative impact factor of 67.3. He has also published two LETTERS in the new Journal of Chemistry and Nano Letters.
