About

My name is Majid Masood, and I am proudly serving as a Sports Officer at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan Campus, since May 2008. With over 25 years of professional experience in the field of sports, I have devoted my life to promoting physical education, coaching, athlete development, and sports infrastructure across academic and national platforms.

Early Life and Education

I began my academic journey at Government Jame-ul-Uloom High School, New Multan, where my love for sports first took root. As captain of the school field hockey team, I led my team to victory in inter-school competitions.

I continued my education at Emerson College, Multan, where I studied for four years and represented the college in various sports competitions, winning intercollegiate titles. These early successes laid the foundation for my future in sports.

Later, I obtained my Master’s degree in Sports Sciences and Physical Education from the prestigious Government College of Physical Education, Gulberg, Lahore. There, I also had the honor of captaining the college team. To further deepen my expertise, I completed an MPhil in Sports Sciences from the University of Lahore.

Under my coaching and leadership, student-athletes of IUB Rahim Yar Khan Campus have achieved outstanding results at national levels:

Gold Medal – All Pakistan HEC Hockey Championship)

Gold Medals – Table Tennis, Karate, and Jujutsu

Silver Medal – Boxing

Notable achievements – Badminton and Football

A recent landmark achievement was by Ali Haider, a student of RYK Campus, who won a Gold Medal at the Khelta Punjab Games, showcasing the strength of our regional sports development program.

Another shining star from our circle is Asif Ali, who gained recognition as an Emerging Player in Pakistan Super League (PSL) Cricket, further affirming our contribution to Pakistan’s professional sports talent.

National & International Involvement

Selected for the Pakistan Junior Hockey Team Camp

Represented Pakistan as a Coach and Manager in India, with victorious matches in Chandigarh and Nainital,internatioinal club championship

Interviewed by Hindustan Times for my role and success in cross-border sports initiatives

Served as an official at a charity cricket match between the Pakistan National Cricket Team and Pakistani Film Actors in Lahore — an event held for the rehabilitation of specially abled children

Academic Contribution & Teaching

I am passionate about sports medicine and injury rehabilitation, which remains my core area of academic interest and teaching. Over the years, I have trained and mentored numerous students and young professionals in understanding athlete care, injury management, and performance recovery.

I have also served as a Resource Person for the Federal Directorate of Education, Islamabad, where I conducted training sessions for physical education teachers from across Pakistan.
