Department of Urdu

The Department of Urdu & Iqbaliat, Islamia University of Bahawal Pur Rahim Yar Khan Campus (BS/MS/M.Phil Urdu & Iqbaliat) started in Fall 2020 with regular faculty
members. Currently it is being run by 5 regular faculty members. Five of them are PhD in (Urdu. We are a place in which all students feel welcome. All students, indeed all IUB students, are welcome in our department and in our classrooms. We teach texts that reflect and permit study of a wide range of voices. Our department offers the BS/ADP/MA/MS/M.Phil in Urdu & Iqbaliat. We, the Urdu & Iqbaliat faculty at IUB Rahim Yar Khan Campus, are committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. We uphold the following mission and objectives.

Department Mission:
The Department Urdu & Iqbaliat, Islamia University of Bahawalpur Rahim Yar Khan Campus is dedicated to four related endeavors: surveying and analyzing the diverse range of texts in the Urdu language; researching and teaching the rich history of that language; fostering exceptional creative as well as critical writing; and studying texts in relation to other cultural phenomena. Our mission as educators is to enable students to become the finest readers and writers of literary texts that they can be. Because those texts in their infinite variety take as their subjects our fellow humans, our histories, and our cultures, we aim in effect to equip our students both to read the
world, and write the future, with subtlety, acumen and precision.
